J. Alexander's Restaurant - Hoover: A Premier Dining Experience Awaits

Enjoyed an evening out here recently. I made reservations and was seated as soon as I made it in. The hostesses were very pleasant. The waiter was super attentive and friendly. Great service! I had the Spinach Con Queso as an appetizer and the Steak au Poivre for dinner. The Lemon Martini was enjoyable and the extra that came with it on the side!

2025 review - great food, fine dining experience, nice atmosphere…..service was also excellent. Didn’t break the bank. Don’t forget about this tried and true steak house chain.

The atmosphere was amazing. Made reservations for 2 seated in a timely manner full of hospitality. Our waiter was the true all star of the place. Hudson took very good care of us. He stayed on points with drinks, made great recommendations and overall just a delightful person to be around that really added to the ambiance of the place. Our food was absolutely delicious especially the dessert with that key lime pie. I would definitely come back, also much credit also to an additional waiter that brought out our food. Just so cool and respectful. It’s just great vibes and energy in this place. I recommend Hudson if you can pick your waiter when you go here.

Awesome as always, never disappointed here. The crab cakes were truly some of the best anywhere, great flavor, not overcooked, lots of lump crab, with a light dijon drizzle. The french dip is awesome, with a tasty horseradish sauce. Love the orzo-wild rice pasta dish. Service was excellent.

We came in after just leaving an establishment where we experienced subpar service before meals were ordered. Then we were greeted by our Waiter, David. David is top shelf. Thank you David for making my Nephews Graduation reception Top Tier. Thanks Again for the Phenomenal Service!!!

Came for our anniversary and had a great time! Had 6:45 reservations and were seated immediately. The server was very polite and allowed me to swap fries for potatoes as a side. Very romantic atmosphere with the real candles on the table. My steak was cooked a perfect medium, pink/red all the way through with no gray on the outside. My husband’s port was also amazing and had a wonderful sauce. The whole meal was absolutely delicious and we topped it off with a fresh warm carrot cake! I normally always go for the chocolate option but it was too good to pass up and I don’t regret it! The slice was huge and we could barely finish it between the two of us. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Made a reservation and it was sat immediately despite being at the end of the 15 min grace period. Appetizer spinach dip was top notch and shoestring fries are the best. Service was good but they were very busy!!
